As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to keep us within the confines of our homes, boredom seems to be a common side effect.

Since none of us will be taking a vacation anytime soon, we have to find a new way to experience the world. Here are some fun virtual tours you can do from the comfort of your couch (yes, even while lounging in your pajamas).

Italy and Beyond

GetYourGuide created a new platform called The World at Home, which allows you to follow a virtual tour guide of your choice and have some enchanting experiences. Behold the beauty of the Vatican Museums or even take a cooking class in Florence.

Jerusalem of Gold⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ From the onset it was clear to our architects at Michael Schwartz that the proposed new levels above the existing stone-clad building of The Inbal would require a ‘light’ cladding – not stone or similar. The idea was to avoid a ‘heavy’ addition to the existing building, especially due to the overhang beyond the existing building’s contour. During the early design phase, many options of materials and colors were explored in order to get it right. Gold-hued aluminium panels were selected as the most appropriate, since gold was the most complimentary to the stone facade. In addition, gold was found to be the color most compatible with the sky, no matter what the season or particular weather conditions. After it was decided to go for the gold, there were many attempts to establish the precise hue, shade and texture. The stippled texture chosen was critical in reducing glare and reflectivity from the sun, which is what you would expect from a smooth, cold material such as aluminium. Indeed, the texture creates different ‘moods’ of the gold, depending on the time of day, season, weather etc. It could also be said that the gold was meant to exemplify the beloved phrase ‘JERUSALEM OF GOLD’ though this was not the original intention. Let’s just compare the gold addition to a delicate gilded crown sitting aloft the original stone building, which validates the original design concept! #jerusalemofgold #jerusalem #welovejerusalem
