Who isn’t busy these days? You might say you’re busy working, busy with your family, busy because you’re at the gym…and you most likely think you’re too busy to make new friends.

Well, you’re not and it’s actually quite easy to do so! Like dating, the first step is to be open and available to the idea of it. Trust us, it’s never too late to add new ladies to your #squad.

Below are five simple tips on how to make new friends!

At the Office
The office is a great place to start when you want to make new friends. Why not consider asking your work bestie to hang out outside of work? It’ll be a good way to build a deeper friendship with your favorite coworker and inviting them out with your other group of friends will show them that you’re interested in furthering your friendship.

Extend Your Family
Your siblings or other family members probably have friends you’ve met quite a few times. You likely haven’t pursued friendships with them but it won’t hurt to since they’ve already been vetted as fun to hang out with! Ask your sibling or family member to hang out and tell them to bring their friends along. You can get to know them in a group setting and gauge how well you guys can get along!

Be a Gym Rat
The gym is also an excellent place to make new friends, especially if you regularly take fitness classes. If you stand near the same person every class, a simple smile or asking about their day won’t hurt. Especially once the cardio endorphins start flowing, that can easily turn into “want to grab a coffee after class?” Or just go out of your way to get to know someone you see a lot at the gym.

Meetup at a Meetup
If you’re really serious about expanding your social circle, Meetups are an awesome approach! Every city has Meetup boards, and even better, most Meetups are based on a common interest, hobby, or age group. Plus, almost every person who joins a Meetup group is pretty much interested and open to expanding his or her social group — so you’ll be meeting people with the same interests and intentions!
