Who doesn’t love a pile of gratuitous chocolate? Halloween isn’t just for the kids, folks. There are plenty of guilty parents and babysitters out there who might poach a fun sized Twix bar from a kid’s Halloween loot… So, how do you recover after a post-Halloween candy food coma? Here are my top three tips to detoxify and get back to your healthy lifestyle:

Track your calories. Find out the optimal amount of calories you should be consuming each day. Track your daily diet in a food journal. If you write it down, you’ll be more diligent about making healthy choices throughout the day.

Do at least 20 minutes of exercise. Exercise can increase your metabolism, increase your energy level, and burn calories.

Avoid more sugar. Now that your candy binge is over, try to avoid more sugar in your diet, which can cause your blood sugar levels to spike and crash. Low blood sugar levels can lead to afternoon cravings and more binge eating.
