The Oscars date back to 1929, which means the Hollywood elite have been dazzling us with incredible films and awe-inspiring fashion for nearly a century.

In honor of the 90th Academy Awards on March 4, we’ve rounded up our favorite moments that stand the test of time:

Audrey Hepburn

Hepburn looked classic and beautiful in the floral lace gown she donned on the Oscars red carpet back in 1953. The belt accent and pearl earrings were the perfect accessories to top off the look (um, swoon!).

Jodie Foster

Foster’s sequin pantsuit and blazer combo couldn’t be more on trend despite the fact that she wore this in 1992 (how’s that for recycled trends?!). Here’s to hoping we see more looks like this on the red carpet this year, too.

Gwyneth Paltrow

Could this pale pink number be any more magical? We’re in love with the major femme vibes coming from this simple silhouette and gorge color. The tulle shawl and diamond choker really top off the chic ballerina-princess vibes.

Jennifer Lawrence

The full skirt on this Dior dress made a major statement when Lawrence posed on the red carpet in 2013. Who could forget this stand-out fashion moment?

Lupita Nyong’o

This baby blue gown is practically a fairy tale come to life. Nyong’o stunned in this pastel number at the 2014 Oscars. With the subtle touches of gold accessories, we’re still dreaming about this look.

Lady Gaga

Forget about only wearing dresses on the red carpet! Lady Gaga took jumpsuits to a whole new level with this high-fashion look. We’re all for the juxtaposition of the retro-inspired flowing curls, old Hollywood glam, and modern style.

Viola Davis

Davis is a stunner in this fiery red number. She kept the makeup and accessories simple and let her bold dress shine on the red carpet in 2013. We’re forever fans of this gal and her fashion choices!

Emma Stone

This column dress has a 1920s flair that’s timeless. Stone’s 2017 ensemble was completed with a side-swept ‘do that kept her overall look classic and effortless — it doesn’t get any better than that!
