Life can feel like an all too familiar routine, amirite? You wake up, check your emails before you even roll out of bed, put on your best contour look, spill your coffee on your white blouse, drive to work in a frenzy, work your butt off, come home to a microwave dinner, and repeat.

It’s not exciting, and even a little depressing. Plus, it’s not easy to deviate from your daily rituals because life gets crazy busy, and let’s be real — #Netflixandchill in your pajamas is way more appealing. So we’ve put together a list of things to help you add some spice back into your life! So grab a friend and get to it.

1. Build a time capsule. Gather your squad and create a time capsule! Fill it with everyone’s favorite past memories and also fill it with everyone’s goals for the future. Then set a time (a few months or a couple of years) for you all to meet up again to dig it up. Not only will it give you something to look forward to, it will give you a goal to work towards so you don’t feel like life is so day-to-day.

2. Book yourself a fancy dinner. We’re thinking about what we’re going to have for dinner as we’re eating lunch…so needless to say, we love food. Plan a date night or a girls night by making a reservation at a restaurant you’ve been dying to try. Book it a month ahead and set a notification on your phone (because there’s nothing better than being reminded about a yummy meal).

3. Treat yourself to a surprise. There’s nothing better than getting an unexpected gift! Don’t leave it up to your SO to shower you with presents. Subscription boxes are a great way to treat yourself to monthly surprise. Think of it as your own personal shopper who curates amazing products and delivers them to your door. Pay month to month or sign up for a full year (that way you’re not constantly reminded about payment, plus annual plans tend to be cheaper) — either way, you’ll get tons of goodies for a super reasonable price.

4. Try something outrageous. A new, unusual hobby is just what you need to turn things around. Try pole dancing (yes, we said pole dancing), sign up for an acting class, take up pottery — the “crazier” the better because regardless if it sticks, it’s always fun to try things that challenge you.
