Last season, we shared tips on how to layer your daytime skin care products. Now, follow along to learn how you can take your nighttime routine to the next level.

Step 1: Makeup Remover

Wipe away the dirt, oil, and makeup from the day with a makeup remover.

Step 2: Cleanser

Wash your face with a nourishing cleanser that will also remove any residual makeup. We love the TULA The Cult Classic Purifying Cleanser as it uses prebiotics, probiotics extracts, and turmeric to leave skin cleansed and balanced.

Fun fact! “TULA” means “balance” in Sanskrit. Dr. Roshini Raj, a practicing gastroenterologist and founder of TULA, was always fascinated by the benefits of probiotics. One day, she had a lightbulb moment to incorporate the power of probiotics into skin care after seeing the life-changing impact probiotics had on her patient’s health, including glowing skin.

Step 3: Face Mask (Optional)

If you have the time, treat your skin to a sheet mask for added benefits. The Vitamasques Cranberry & Apple Sheet Mask Set features vitamin C to offer antioxidant protection.

Step 4: Toner/Essence

The general rule of thumb is to layer your thinner, water-based formulas first. Hydrate your face with a toner, then layer the essence on right after. You can also skip this step if the face mask

Step 5: Serum

Use a serum that targets your specific skin care concerns. We recommend the dr.brandt® skincare Collagen Serum for helping the skin appear smoother and brighter.

Step 5: Eye Cream

Apply an eye cream before your skin treatments so that the ingredients can directly penetrate into the under-eye area.

Step 6: Retinol

Do this step only at night! Start by layering on retinol, like the Sunday Riley A+ High-Dose Retinoid Serum, one to two times a week. Then increase the frequency as your skin gets used to the ingredient. P.S. Try not to mix retinol with vitamin C or AHAs/BHAs.

Step 7: Moisturizer

Seal in all the goodness with a moisturizer that’s thicker and heavier than your standard day cream for added moisture.

Step 8: Face Oil

If you’re using a day moisturizer, you can also finish your routine with an oil, like the Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil, for extra hydration.
