This artist has taken his creativity to a whole ‘nother level — right beneath the ground, that is. Biancoshock, a Milan-based artist, went to the streets of his hometown to create tiny living spaces out of abandoned sewers or manholes.

His project is titled Borderlife and is meant to shed light on people who are actually living in similarly, extreme conditions. He noted that more than 600 people live underground in Bucharest, where he also took inspiration for his project.

Biancoshock notes, “if some problems cannot be avoided, make them comfortable.” Art like this is incredibly inspiring and brings awareness to many unfortunate situations, in a creative ways.
