In a world filled with chaos, organization can sometimes seem like an unreachable feat. How is one supposed to keep their life straight with obligations all across the board? Not only is organization tough, but it’s also incredibly boring that you just want to give up and give in to the mess.

Not so fast though! Here are our tips to stay on top of it all, while still having fun:

Not just any ol’ calendar or spiral notebook — we’re talking heavy duty. The new Erin Condren LifePlanner will change the way you’ve been keeping track of everything. You get to customize everything from the cover to the inside of the layout. You can even add inspirational quotes and fun stickers throughout the pages. Make it a planner you’ll actually want to put your priorities on. There are also fun add-ons you can choose like meal planning and travel!

Invite a pal or two over to your house to sort through your things — don’t forget to provide them with dinner to make the offer more appealing. Then, pick a room and attack! Declutter, toss out anything old or dirty, and start to pile similar items together. If an item already has a designated spot, return it to its home. If it doesn’t, make a place for it or say goodbye. Your friends will be a great voice of reason and the company will help you from going insane.

Time to go shopping! Whether you need folders to keep track of all of your papers and receipts, or new bins to put all of your magazines in, new supplies can always make the task of organization fun. Try a website like poppin. if you’re looking for specific colors or ban.do for something more eccentric.

Stop missing out on important emails from the clutter of sales and random newsletters you don’t even read. We suggest a fun website like Unroll.Me to make the process of unsubscribing pain-free and enjoyable! Still want an extra reminder for when you receive an important email? Try Nudgemail. The site literally “nudges” you when something is coming up. It’s one of our fave ways to keep everything accounted for.

Don’t just update the software — get rid of contacts you haven’t talked to in years, old text messages that are using up all of your storage, and anything that might be getting in the way of your organizational zen. Delete old memos and notes that don’t make sense anymore and even pictures that are no longer relevant. It’s always nice to start from the ground up, so an emptied phone might make all the difference in your life.

Grab some colorful folders and tackle that pile of papers that’s been getting higher and higher. Start by tossing out the old, unimportant papers out. Next, separate your bank statements from your wedding invitations (or the bill from your dog’s latest vet visit) and file into appropriate folders. Use a new color for each category to keep everything straight — the next time you’re looking for something important, you’ll know exactly where to find it!
