The biggest names in Hollywood were at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City last night for the 2018 Met Gala, an annual, invitation-only fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. The event is one of the most iconic nights in fashion with bold fashion statements being made left and right — and this year was no exception.

While this year’s theme, Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination, was a bit more controversial than most, stars still stunned on the red carpet and held nothing back when it came to following suit on the theme.

You know the drill — we’re highlighting our 10 favorite looks from the night.

Rihanna

Fashion enthusiasts can always depend on RiRi to turn heads on a red carpet. The singer donned a matching set by Maison Margiela Artisanal complete with pope-inspired headwear, a strapless gown, and a shawl-collar coat.

Ariana Grande

Grande made her Met Gala debut in none other than Vera Wang, and let’s just say, she was a walking work of art (literally). Her strapless gown featured Michelangelo’s The Last Judgement and was spot on with this year’s theme.

Kerry Washington

The Scandal star looked like a bronze goddess in her metallic Ralph Lauren gown and natural curls. The simple silhouette and single hair accessory kept things minimal and classy.

SZA

All hail queen SZA! She absolutely stunned on the red carpet in a fairy-like gown by Versace and her signature curls. Plus, how many people can pull off a gold halo?

Rosie Huntington-Whitley

Go glam or go home, right? The model was embellished in crystals from head to toe in a custom Ralph Lauren number and Anita Ko jewelry.

Amal Clooney

As a co-host for this year’s event, Clooney didn’t disappoint with her red carpet look. She kept things spring-appropriate in Richard Quinn with the floral train and gala-ready with sparkly Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

Blake Lively

We can always count on Lively to kill it on the red carpet. She slipped into a regal Atelier Versace gown covered in baroque-inspired embellishments and pulled her blonde hair back to let the dress do the talking.

Zendaya

When it comes to red carpet fashion, Zendaya is our knight in shining armor. She channeled her inner Joan of Arc in a slinky silver Versace number and matching silver skyscraper heels.

The rapper perfected the Met Gala maternity look in Moschino. The matching headpiece and beaded gown paired with her bold red lip and natural curls make this a look to remember.

Kate Bosworth

Bosworth wins the award for most elegant and graceful. There’s no denying that her angelic bridal look by Oscar de la Renta is a fan-favorite.
