It’s Saturday night. You don’t want to hit the town but that bottle of red is calling your name. And your cat is judging you for sitting in your pajamas all alone. What to do now? Pop open a bottle of Apollo Peak (aka wine for cats) and drink with your feline partner in crime.
Nope, this isn’t joke. This Colorado-based company is making headlines all over for its organic, non-alcoholic, catnip-based wine for cats.
Current wine varietals include Pinot Meow and MosCATo, which are crafted from water, organic catnip, and sea salt — the wine is colored with organic white and purple beets. What started out as a joke has morphed into a legit wine brand, and according to Instagram, cats are loving the catnip-induced vino.
“It’s made like a tea,” Apollo Peak founder Brandon Zavala told The Huffington Post. “But since we got it to look so much like a wine, we want it to be perceived as a wine by the consumer — that way they can feel as though they are having a glass of wine with their pet.”
You heard it here first, folks. Drinking wine with your cat on a weekend night is completely acceptable now!
