Who doesn’t get nervous from the interview process? From finding parking and remembering people’s names (that’s very important, by the way), it can be hard to focus on the fact that you are actually the perfect person for the job. You’re confident, smart, capable, and you deserve to land your dream job.

To help you keep your eye on the prize, we’ve put together some pro tips to get you ahead of the game. So get your strong handshake ready, because you’re going to rock it!

Do Your Research
It sounds obvious, but you’d be surprised at how many people show up to an interview unprepared. Look through the company’s website and study the “About” page. Memorize the names of executives and people who work in the department you’re applying for. Trust us, knowing this information will make an impression.

Bring Your Résumé and Cover Letter in a Manila Folder
You might think bringing your résumé and cover letter isn’t necessary, but it doesn’t hurt. Print out a couple of copies and put them in a manila folder. You never know who you might be asked to meet during an interview, so always be one step ahead.

Wear Deodorant
White marks on your gray blouse are the last things you want to worry about. Use Secret Outlast Xtend Clear Gel because it provides 48 hour odor protection and rub-off resistant coverage for no white marks. Just swipe it on right before your interview and it’ll dry within seconds.

Give Yourself an Extra 30 Minutes
Google Maps might say otherwise, but give yourself an extra 30 minutes when calculating your commute. This buffer time will be helpful in case there’s an accident, plus you’ll have a few minutes to relax and gather your thoughts before the interview. Another tip: don’t arrive too early. If you do get there more than 15 minutes ahead of time, wait in your car and practice your talking points. It’ll be much more comfortable than sitting in a waiting room nervously twiddling your fingers.

Don’t Forget a Portable Phone Charger
The worst thing that can happen as you’re en route to your interview is having your phone run out of battery. You’ll save yourself time and frustration if you have a portable phone charger handy. Whether you’re using your phone to map your way to your interview or giving yourself a quick refresher on the company, you’ll be thankful you brought it.

Ask Questions
What’s the company culture like? What does the day-to-day of this position look like? What are the employer’s expectations for the role? Coming prepared with question lets your employer know that you’re invested in the position and your future at the company.
