Now that the threat to the presidency is over, what will the gladiators take on next? Something tells us they won’t be relaxing on a beach or planning Quinn’s wedding. (OK, there might be a little wedding planning).

Here’s a quick recap on what they’re up to.

David Rosen wants to put a head in Abby’s fridge. He wants to find out the truth about who Samantha really was, so he goes to Rowan for answers. Rowan gives David a human head in a box: Samantha’s head. So after Jake takes some DNA samples, the head hangs out in Abby’s fridge. Gross.

Rowan says goodbye. He’s officially retiring — no more dinosaurs. At dinner with Olivia, he tells her that he is leaving for good because now that she has the power of the Oval Office, she can’t be attached to anyone. Loving someone would only weaken her power. Papa Pope, we will miss you.

Fitz is just getting started. Can you believe that Fitz only has nine days left as president? He’s looking into presidential pardons to help give second chances to those who deserve it, but Marcus tells Fitz he needs to do more. Fitz agrees. So during his exit interview, Fitz says his foundation will help those in need of a second chance, and Marcus is going to help.

Olivia leaves OPA. While OPA is investigating into which prisoner the president should pardon, Olivia isn’t really doing anything to help. When Quinn and the team can’t come up with hard evidence, Liv tells Quinn to stop. So Quinn goes straight to Fitz and does some serious gladiating. That’s when Olivia knows that Quinn is ready to take over OPA.

Peus and Ruland were working for someone else. Jake is able to track down Samantha’s house. Some investigating leads him to find a phone with a message from the person who was really running the show. They take this information to Olivia and Fitz, so they can stop Rowan from leaving. Why? Because the real culprit is Olivia’s mother: Marie Wallace.
