At FabFitFun, there’s nothing we love more than women who are paving the way for female empowerment. That’s why we’re proud to feature six female founded brands in this season’s box (don’t forget to snag one for yourself) — and every single woman is a leading lady in her field.

Check out their interviews below and here’s to hoping that we can all #followherlead.

IMG_9857 Susan KogerCo-Founder & Chief Creative Officer of ModCloth

Imagine turning your love of thrifting into a business. Well, that’s exactly how Susan started her uber successful company, ModCloth. She was obsessed with vintage clothing and started accumulating tons of clothes that her boyfriend (now husband) helped her turn into an e-commerce website. Now, ModCloth is a multi-million dollar company with over 450 employees!

You started your own business because: I want to empower women, and I love fashion.

Your greatest achievement to date is: Building a company that people care about. And every time I see someone wearing ModCloth on the street it feels like an amazing achievement.

IMG_9860 Yen Reis, CEO & Founder of Skin Laundry

Yen, like many women, struggled with hormonal acne as a young adult. She spent years searching for a solution to help resolve her skin problems. While she was living in Asia, Yen discovered laser and light treatments which changed her skin and how she felt about it — she was hooked. Yen wanted to share her discovery with the world, thus Skin Laundry was born.

You started your own business because: There was a gap in the beauty market for affordable, mild laser facials.

I hope my company makes women feel: That it’s OK to be a mother, a wife, and have a career. It’s OK to take the risk to work and feel accomplished with your achievements.

IMG_9863 Anit Hora, Founder of Mullein & Sparrow

Anit Hora worked for seven years in the corporate fashion world, but something just didn’t feel right. So she quit, packed a bag, and decided to travel the world. After coming back to New York, Anit studied skin care with Aveda and eventually started her own line of products that bring balance and simplicity into modern living.

The person who inspires you every day: My mom! She keeps me grounded and encourages me to reach for the stars at the same time.

You’re most grateful for: My family. This would not be possible without their endless support.

IMG_9866 Miranda Coggins, CEO & Founder of Pure Cosmetics

Miranda had an “Aha!” moment when she started experimenting with lanolin — an ointment primarily used by women who are breastfeeding — to moisturize her dry lips. She felt relief from the ointment and then decided to create an effective lip balm formula right in her kitchen! The Lano Company was born shortly after and is now known as Pure Cosmetics.

You started your own business because: I had chronically chapped lips and wanted to find a better lip gloss. I wanted a formula that was beautiful, but could also heal my lips at the same time without feeling sticky.

Every woman should know she is: Strong as she wants to be and is capable of doing anything she wants to do if she simply tries. A lot of people have ideas but are afraid to act on them!

IMG_9871 Elaine Binder, CEO & Founder of Spongellé

When Elaine’s son discovered her expensive shower gel and used the entire bottle in a few days, she knew there had to be a more efficient way to shower. With her entrepreneurial spirit, she created Spongellé to eliminate overpour and the need for multiple products to cleanse and protect skin.

You’re most grateful for: The ability to live, create, and share my knowledge with others.

I hope my company makes women feel: Sexy, happy, and empowered.

IMG_9872 Tonya Crooks, CEO & Founder of The BrowGal

After working fashion shows with some of the world’s top models, Tonya created The BrowGal to help women manage and maintain their brows. Tonya’s mom instilled in her the belief that every woman deserves to feel beautiful and have access to products that make them feel that way — especially when it comes to brows. Now her brand is the go-to for celebrities like Megan Fox, Eva Mendes, and Britney Spears.

If you could have an actress play you in a movie it would be: Jennifer Lawrence. Her movie Joy really hit home. I can really relate to her and I love that she isn’t afraid to be herself.

Every woman should know she is: Perfectly imperfect.
