Burger King’s new fast food mashup broke the internet. OK not really, but it definitely comes a close second to Kim Kardashian. Why? Mac n’ Cheetos, that’s why. With an official launch at select Burger King locations yesterday, our news feeds are cluttered with reviews and thoughts on this cheesy snack (sorry, Doritos Locos!).

According to Burger King, they’re a “hand-held new take on classic mac n’ cheese, perfect for snacking on the go. Mac n’ Cheetos are creamy mac n’ cheese covered with crispy Cheetos flavor and served warm.” At $2.49 and 310 calories, we wanted to know more about these mozzarella stick-looking mac n’ cheese sticks.

If you’re hesitant, here’s what everyone is saying today:

Thrillist: “Let’s look at the facts here, folks: Mac n’ Cheetos are stick-like portions of macaroni and cheese that are coated in a bright orange, Cheetos-inspired breading, deep fried, and served in packages of five. With a combination like that, you can hardly go wrong, and Mac n’ Cheetos certainly don’t go wrong. However, they’d be 1,000 times better if they were actually covered in actual Cheetos dust, and perhaps a ZILLION times better if they were covered in Flamin’ Hot Cheetos dust.”

Chicago Tribune“This thing doesn’t even belong in reality. Why?”

Eater: Matt Kang, Los Angeles Editor, declared, “I think it’s great.”

SouthFlorida.com:”A 5-year-old would love this,” opined one summer intern. “But where’s the Cheeto dust on my fingers?”

ABC News: “Is it weird that I love them?” admitted multimedia reporter Olivia Smith. “I hate myself.”

“The only good thing about it is that it didn’t turn my fingers orange,” joked senior video producer Brian Canova.

“I just think it needs more spice,” said video editor Lindsey Jacobson. “I can see it being a good junk food.”

If you’re leaning towards trying them out firsthand, don’t wait too long as they’re only going to be around for about eight weeks.
