When it comes to being an ally, it all starts with educating yourself about the racial inequality that the Black community faces.

From reading books on anti-racism to supporting your Black friends and co-workers and speaking up on racial issues, you can also take action by donating to organizations that are fighting against systemic racism.

We’re sharing 10 organizations that you can donate to right now. We encourage you to research them and contribute to those that speak to you.

Black Lives Matter
Founded in 2013 in response to the acquittal of Trayvon Martin’s murder, Black Lives Matter mission “is to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on Black communities by the state and vigilantes.” They are working towards a world where Black lives are valued and no longer targeted. NAACP
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People was founded in 1909 after the 1908 race riot in Springfield, Illinois. Their mission is to eliminate race-based discrimination and “secure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights” for Black people. Your donation to NAACP will help further this mission and empower more than half a million NAACP members.

The Loveland Foundation
In a world where therapy is a necessity yet not readily accessible or available, The Loveland Foundation helps provide therapy and other healing resources for Black women and girls. ACLU
The American Civil Liberties Union’s mission is to “end police brutality, demand racial justice, and defend our right to protest.” Your donation will help fund the legal battles of thousands of cases each year of clients whose rights have been violated and their work with law and policymakers to protect our civil rights. Equal Justice Initiative
Founded by public interest lawyer Bryan Stevenson, EJI is “committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States,” while taking a stance against systemic racism and protecting basic human rights. They provide legal representation to those in marginalized and vulnerable communities who have been wrongfully convicted. Click here to donate now.

Fair Fight
Voters of color in Georgia have been held back from their right to vote due to “illegal voter purges to hundreds of poll closures [and] four hour lines.” That’s why Stacey Abrams founded Fair Fight to promote fair elections and encourage voter participation on a local and national level. Many innocent people remain incarcerated, which is why Innocence Project “[exonerates] the innocent through DNA testing and [reforms] the criminal justice system to prevent future injustice.” They support those who have been wrongfully convicted. Click here to donate now.

Founded by Colin Kaepernick, Know Your Rights Camp’s mission is to empower Black men and women through “education, self-empowerment, mass-mobilization, and the creation of new systems that elevate the next generation of change leaders.” They host camps throughout the United States and bring speakers, including civil rights attorneys, authors, and entrepreneurs, to educate the youth.
