Let’s be honest. Disney Channel was everything when we were navigating those awkward “tween” years. If Lizzie McGuire’s never-ending crush on Ethan wasn’t your life story in middle school, then what was? Everyone knew the lyrics to Proud Family and people wished they had Raven’s psychic powers.

So in the spirit of throwbacks, we’re highlighting some of our fave Disney Channel hit shows from the good ol’ days.

Although it was only three seasons long, it left a deep imprint on a generation of flared jean wearing and boy band loving teens. If Lizzie’s unrequited love for Ethan wasn’t relatable enough, then there was the friend turned mean girl situation with Kate. Yet, through all the ups and downs of junior high, Lizzie always had her best friends, Gordo and Miranda, at her side to make up for it!

“Even Stevens”
Even Stevens aired in 2000 documenting the entertaining relationship between far from perfect seventh grader, Louis (played by an adorable Shia LaBeouf), and his overachieving older sister, Ren. Louis’ misadventures with best pals Alan and Tawny made your own middle school mishaps less cringeworthy. Besides, who can forget the annoying yet lovable tag along, Beans?

Young Miley Cyrus had the time of her life playing a character with a double life. Cyrus played Miley Stewart, just your typical teenager by day, who transformed into a pop princess at night. Who else misses the Miley’s blonde wig and “sweet niblets” moments?

Twins, Dylan and Cole Sprouse were living the dream making a hotel their permanent address. If their shenanigans weren’t enough, there was also their single mother who was a lounge singer at the hotel, London Tipton (played by Brenda Song) the not-so-bright heiress, and hotel employee Maddie Fitzpatrick (played by Ashley Tisdale) to get those laughs out of you.

20371_260118386640_7677997_n “The Jersey”
Who wouldn’t want a jersey that transports you into the body of a professional athlete? The show ran from 1999 to 2004 and was based on the Monday Night Football Club books by Gordon Korman. The possibilities for these four teens were endless with the magical jersey by their side, giving them the ability to step into professional sports history.

Penny Proud was a character we could all relate to; she was down to earth and was constantly striving for more independence from her parents all while navigating the seas of junior high. Not only was the show a great family comedy, but the theme song for the show was also performed by Destiny’s Child and Solange. Also, who didn’t want to have a grandma like Sugar Mama?

Last but not least, That’s So Raven aired in 2003 and followed the not-so-ordinary teen, Raven Baxter, as she got glimpses into the future through her psychic visions. For years, we got to watch Raven’s teenage antics alongside her best friends Chelsea and Eddie as they tried to outrun fate and change the future. Plus, her face, whenever she got visions, was pretty priceless.
