Perfectly curled hair. It’s something we try to achieve on a daily basis because we all know that polished locks make you look that much more put together. With winter in full effect, though, it can be a challenging task as cooler temps, dryness, and stepping out of the shower with wet hair (brr!) all come into play.

Luckily, we’ve got celebrity hairstylist Sarah Potempa on speed dial. And yes, she’s responsible for giving the Victoria’s Secret Angels their amazing runway ‘dos (in Paris, mind you) in the dead of winter. Thanks to her fail proof tips, you’ll never have a bad winter hair day again.

Wash your locks at night. Wash your hair at night and sleep in a loose braid. Use argan oil or leave-in conditioner before braiding and you’ll wake up with soft waves and dry hair.

Create long-lasting waves. Spend 20 minutes fully waving your hair on a Sunday, and you can make the waves last up to three days! On day one you’ll have gorgeous waves, on day two you can add dry shampoo, and [put your hair into] a top knot, and on day three put all your hair up in a cute beach waved ponytail. You won’t have to wash your hair for at least three days, which is great in the winter to keep your hair from drying out!

Got dryer sheets? Run dryer sheets over your hair to tame frizz and static. (It really works!)

Sleep on a silk pillowcase. Switch to a silk pillowcase to smooth your hair and add shine.

Deep condition. Use a deep conditioner twice a week in the winter. One of my favorite tips is to take [a paddle brush] in the shower to evenly distribute the product throughout the hair.
