The British are leaving, the British are leaving!

It’s true, the Brits have officially voted to “Brexit” the European Union. Yesterday, the UK decided by a 51.9% vote to separate from the EU, which means the British will be discussing the terms of their departure in the next two years.

Significant changes have already occurred and here are some things you should know since the historic vote occurred:

1. British Prime Minister David Cameron resigned from his position (he was adamant on remaining in the EU) and will step down in October.
2. The British pound lost 10% of its value hours after the polls closed.
3. Stocks have gone down as Britain’s FTSE 100 index lost 9% of its value.
4. There is a possibility that British immigrants might lose their right to continue living and working in the UK — they could potentially be deported.
5. Scotland is seeking their own independence from the UK noting they were taken out of the EU against their will. 62% voted to remain in the EU.
