Destination weddings are all the rage right now, and for many awesome reasons.
First off, you and your guests get to travel, basically making it a vacation. Secondly, destination weddings make for the most beautiful photos (cue exotic turquoise water, a plantation as your background, and more).
If you’re indecisive, check out our current favorite spots below which are definitely worth traveling for. You really can’t go wrong, whichever you choose.
Jamaica
Jamaica is easy to get to, no matter where you and your guests are flying in from. And do you see how clear the water is? It’s pretty much an island paradise for anyone getting hitched. Between Negril, Ocho Rios, and Montego Bay, the options are endless. Bonus: If you say “I do” at Sandals Royal Caribbean in Montego Bay, you can book one of their new over the water huts (pictured above…it’s unreal, right?) and continue into honeymoon mode without leaving the island.
Maui
While we love all of the Hawaiian islands, Maui is perhaps our favorite for wedding shenanigans. It offers everything: gorgeous beaches, luxe resorts, and lots of adventure. Can’t you picture yourself saying “I do” with Wailea Beach in the background and the ocean breeze blowing? If you’re seeking the perfect spot (like this gorgeous setup here), we suggest the Fairmont Kea Lani, which also has their own wedding planning service.
Charleston
Stateside, we can’t think of a more stunning destination than Charleston. With a rich history and constantly being voted the best city and most romantic city in the world, it’s easy to fall in love with the area. Plus, you can take over an entire plantation on your big day. Middleton Place is comprised of 65 sprawling acres consisting of gardens, historic homes, stable yards, rice fields, and more. Expect the most amazing wedding photos ever.
Carmel Valley
Looking for something nearby that feels like you’re far away? Just two hours south of San Francisco lies stunning Carmel Valley. Your guests will flip at the chance to spend a night (or two) at Bernardus Loge & Spa while celebrating your nuptials. Also, this lodge offers everything from vineyard and ballroom venues to small, intimate vintner gatherings.
Paris
Coined the “City of Love,” it’s easy to see why couples flock to Paris for their big day. For starters, wedding photos in front of the Eiffel Tower are priceless. There are many venues to choose from, but in case you need pointers, Pavillon d’Armenonville is a fabulous option — think private gardens, French architecture, beautiful terraces, and more.
Tuscany
We’re already packing our bags to attend your wedding at this stunning villa at Vitigliano in Tuscany. Does it get any better than this? We sure don’t think so. Rent out this entire villa and celebrate in true Italian form with amazing food and wine, insane countryside views, and more.
Riviera Maya
Mexico’s picture perfect Riviera Maya has wedding venue options that will cater to any style, taste, and budget. For a more low-key, boutique style wedding, Hotel Esencia is where it’s at. It’s close to Cancun’s airport, but far away from the hustle and bustle of neighboring beach towns. You and up to 300 guests can pretty much take over this paradise while celebrating your nuptials.
