The episode started with a look back on Brown’s time on Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor, but you already know how that ended. So let’s move on, shall we?

Brown, a southern sweetheart and former Miss Alabama pageant queen, met 30 lucky men who made some grand entrances, to say the least – one jumped out of a box, one jumped over a fence, and another rolled up in a full-on tractor. After she introduced herself to all the men, she gave her opening toast where she admitted that she’s not going to be perfect, she’s going to make mistakes, but she’s going to be real. Amen, sister!

While Brown was mingling, her besties Demi Burnett and Katie Morton (who were also on Underwood’s season) were posted outside the mansion in a surveillance truck to keep a close eye on her prospects.

OK, we told you Brown’s season wasn’t boring, and this was where it started to get interesting. While watching from behind the scenes, Burnett revealed that she received a direct message via Instagram that claimed one of the men had a girlfriend back home just days before leaving for the show (cue eye roll).

Brown confronted him immediately, and it turns out Burnett was right. She sent him home ASAP – not a great way to start her journey to everlasting love. But after a few well-deserved tears, Brown was ready to continue getting to know the remaining 29 bachelors.

After lots of conversations and even a couple first kisses, Brown eventually gave the first impression rose to Luke Parker, a seemingly wholesome southern boy from Georgia. Seems like a fitting match for her, but will the chemistry last?

Finally, Brown sent seven other gentlemen home during the first rose ceremony of the season. Poor guys, but it’s all part of the dramatic yet exciting adventure that is The Bachelorette. We’re rooting for Brown, and hope she finds “the one.”
