Do you procrastinate for hours on end? You’re not alone. But procrastination doesn’t always involve leaving things to the last minute or zoning out in front of the TV.
In fact, the best way to procrastinate will make you feel productive and accomplished. Sure, you might be avoiding what you really need to do, but at least you’re putting that time to good use. Here are simple tasks you can do to procrastinate “better.”
Reconnect with a friend
Rather than sitting there and passively liking all of your friends’ social media posts, go old school and give them a call. Catching up with friends is always a good way to spend time, even if it’s just a 20-minute phone call. Take it a step further and even walk around your neighborhood while you’re on the phone to get in your daily steps (multitasking at its best!). Who knows? The fresh air might even motivate you to get started on that dreaded project.
Organize your living space
If you’re planning on procrastinating anyway, might as well use that time to get some cleaning done. Whether it’s the Tupperware mess in your kitchen cabinets or the cluttered pantry of expired snacks, pick a place and start tidying up. The key is to divide and conquer to avoid feeling overwhelmed by the mess.
Catch up on current events
As life gets busy, it’s easy to get stuck in your personal bubble and be out of the loop. Use this time to read up on the latest news or watch a couple YouTube videos for the latest trends. You can even turn on a couple podcasts while you finish chores. You may be a procrastinator, but at least you’re an informed procrastinator.
Clean your makeup brushes
If you can’t remember the last time you washed your makeup brushes, this is a must. You won’t even feel like you’re procrastinating.
Try out a new recipe
Why not extend your procrastination with some home cooking? Not only will you be using your time wisely, you’ll also get a tasty meal out of it.
