It all started with a peeled orange.
Whole Foods has done some pretty crazy things (two words: asparagus water) and now the chain has come under fire again for — wait for it — pre-packaged peeled oranges.
A shopper, Nathalie Gordon, posted about it to Twitter:
If only nature would find a way to cover these oranges so we didn’t need to waste so much plastic on them. pic.twitter.com/00YECaHB4D

And people began responding in outrage, of course. Ugh, what a waste of plastic! Ugh, that’s what hands are for! The backlash was so strong that Whole Foods even tweeted out:
@awlilnatty Definitely our mistake. These have been pulled. We hear you, and we will leave them in their natural packaging: the peel. — Whole Foods Market (@WholeFoods) March 3, 2016
On the other hand, there were some people who came out in support of the peeled orange controversy, saying that those who suffer from arthritis might find the pre-peeled fruits helpful.
What do you think? Are you for or against pre-peeled oranges? Let us know in the comments below!
