We’re not lying when we say you can lose weight in just 21 days, and keep it off for good…but how? Train with fitness guru, Stephanie Mansour. Yep, she’s about to change the way you look at health, fitness, and even yourself.
Founder of Step It Up with Steph, Mansour is all about promoting a positive body image while helping her clients gain confidence and keep off those extra pounds through her four pillar approach (physical, nutritional, emotional, and spiritual). She’s helped thousands of women not only lose tons of weight, but also feel empowered and understand the good they’re doing for themselves, mentally and physically.
How exactly does she do it? Her free 21-Day Challenge delivers an outlined workout plan, a nutritional guide, fun confidence boosting challenges, and daily tips and motivation straight to your inbox! It’s like having your own personal trainer right at your fingertips…which is why we partnered with Step It Up with Steph to bring some of her fabulous workouts to FabFitFunTV (available to members only).
We had the chance to sit down with the girl boss herself and asked everything from her favorite client success story to how she motivates herself to work out when she doesn’t feel like it (because we’ve all been there).
How do you think workouts are changing in the digital realm and with the boom of social media?
Everyone knows what to do; but they’re not doing it. I think that having so many workouts available digitally really provides women with a chance to look at themselves in the mirror and ask, “why aren’t we doing them? Why aren’t we consistent? Why are we bored?” With so many options to choose from, I think women can more quickly ask themselves, “why don’t I value my body or my life enough to dedicate time to this?” From there, we’re able to get to the bottom of things more quickly, and then realize that either we need help (such as accountability or a coach) or we need to just jump in, do it, and commit.
What’s your favorite workout to do when you’re on-the-go (i.e. traveling, etc.)?
10 minutes of mat pilates on the floor — I do this every day when I’m traveling and even when I’m waking up early for TV appearances because it makes me feel connected to my core and instantly strong! It also helps to keep my low back in place because if I’m sitting on an airplane, sleeping on a new bed, or running around in heels, my back can feel a little bit off and pilates helps to keep it in check!
Do you have any motivational quote(s) you like to live by?
Go big or go home. This is my favorite quote because if I’m not going to give something my all, it means I’m either not passionate about it or will end up feeling bad about the project because I know I could’ve done better.
How do you encourage yourself to workout when you just don’t feel like it?
Working out is more than just a physical part of my day. Working out is my own mental meditative time during which I can pump myself up, boost my confidence, and feel immediately proud of myself for making the time to do something positive for myself. I enjoy listening to my anthems, if you will — the songs that pump me up and encourage me to keep going! So whenever I think about skipping a workout, I think about the mental benefits I’ll gain. However, if I’m sick or haven’t slept, I do take the day off, and I encourage my clients to do the same.
Any favorite workouts?
Spinning if I’m looking for someone to kick my butt! I love yoga classes (the slower the better) because it helps me to calm my mind and feel more connected to myself.
What’s your favorite part about helping people get in shape?
I love seeing their habits in the infancy stages all the way up to the adult stages. What I mean is that I love seeing the intention behind creating new habits, and then watching clients implement the actual changes to form the habits.
Is there one particular client success story that makes you smile?
I am extremely proud of one of my clients who lost 83 lbs in just 12 weeks by following my Step It Up with Steph system. We focused on her mindset first, and she was definitely in it to win it! We didn’t use intense dieting or any gimmicks — it was simply a healthy diet, regular exercise, and mentally staying on track.
How do you hope your clients feel after taking one of your workouts/classes?
I hope my clients feel empowered and proud of themselves. It’s hard (especially in the beginning) when you’re establishing a workout regimen to feel motivated. I help my clients connect to their big reason why — why is this important? Why do you want this? Why is exercise a priority for you? And in doing this, we really connect the mind with the body so it’s a well-rounded workout, both physically and mentally. I hope my clients leave feeling more connected with themselves as a result.
