WINTER 2017 BOX PARTNER

Winter is a tough season for your skin. As the air gets colder, you need to start switching up your routine to avoid dryness and dullness.

Skin is the largest organ of the body, so don’t make the mistake of thinking skin care begins and ends with your pretty face. Head-to-toe care is very important, so lucky for you, we called on the experts to give us some of their best tips. We’re talking advice from Kate Somerville, Founder of Kate Somerville, Beth Ann Catalano, President and CEO of North America AHAVA, and Iva Pawling, Co-Founder of Pointe Studio. #yourewelcome

Face
It’s good that you’re properly moisturizing and applying SPF daily, but don’t forget that some products need to be added or switched up once the weather gets colder. Kate Somerville said, “It depends on your skin type, but a general rule in winter is exfoliate, use heavier creams than you would during summer, and always apply SPF.” Incorporate the Kate Somerville ExfoliKate® Intensive Exfoliating Treatment into your skin care routine to slough away any damage from the summer sun and to keep skin healthy, youthful, and fresh. ExfoliKate® incorporates lactic acid to “chemically” exfoliate the skin, silica to “physically” exfoliate the skin, and papaya, pineapple, and pumpkin enzymes to help enhance skin exfoliation. It’s also infused with aloe vera and honey to soothe and condition the skin. Win, win, win.

Neck
If there’s one area of the skin that’s consistently forgotten, it’s the neck. The skin in this area is delicate and especially prone to sunburn and dryness in the winter. Massage any extra product (with SPF is a bonus) from the face down into the neck to ensure it’s not neglected.

Hands
Dry, cracking hands? Beth Ann Catalano said that the hands “are one of the three fastest aging parts of your body and [you] use them in so many ways.” Slather on the AHAVA Mineral Hand Cream, which uses a patented blend of Dead Sea minerals called Osmoter ™. Catalano said to think of it as a “cocktail” of minerals that “[act] as a biological pump, pulling up moisture and nutrients from the deeper layers of your skin, to the outer surface, where they are needed most. This helps your skin look and feel its best.” And who doesn’t want that?

Body
Your body needs some loving too. Between all that indoor heating and going out to brave the cold, keep flaky, cracked skin at bay with a rich, moisturizing body cream. Apply it all over your body right after you towel off from the shower to fully reap the moisturizing benefits.

Feet
Nobody likes rubbing lotion all over their feet (who has time to wait for it to dry?). Wear the Pointe Studio Aloe Infused Cozy Socks because they’re oh-so-fuzzy and infused with aloe, which soothes and cools to help you relax. Iva Pawling said these socks are “such an easy way to get the benefits from aloe vera’s anti-inflammatory and moisturizing qualities to soothe our feet on the daily.” Think of it as a face mask, but for your feet!
