If you’re waiting for the “right” time to live a healthier life, the time is now. We know it can be difficult to change up your eating habits, so we came up with five tips you can easily incorporate into your everyday life.

Here’s to a healthier you!

Put a bowl of fruit on your kitchen counter. Busy days mean you usually reach for whatever is closest in proximity, which is why you should make healthy foods the easiest to access. Put a bowl of fruits like apples and bananas in plain sight, and hide your cookies in the pantry.

Add frozen veggies to everything. Frozen veggies are easy to purchase and take forever to go bad. Purchase your favorite frozen packs like sugar snap peas, green peas, pepper medley…the options are endless. And whenever you prep lunch or dinner, throw in any assortment of veggies! Bell peppers taste amazing with scrambled eggs, peas are heavenly in stir fry, and the list goes on and on. You’ll up your fiber and nutrient intake easily and inexpensively.

Eat half your dinner. Overinflated portion sizes mean you’re likely eating dinner for two or three people each time you sit down to a meal. Split your meal in half (or share it), and you’ll save half the calories, yet still get to enjoy the taste. Save the remaining half for tomorrow’s lunch or dinner.

Order first when out with friends. How many times were you set on ordering the salad, but once your friend ordered the burger you decided to splurge, too? Order first, instead, as you’re more likely to choose a healthier choice. Your friends will then likely follow suit. See? You’re such a good influence.

The water bottle is your best friend. If you don’t have one, purchase a water bottle with a straw. Drinking water will soon become second nature because the straw eliminates you having to open the water bottle cap — making it easier for you to access water when you need it. And we all know that when you’re probably hydrated, you feel better overall and you’ll likely eat less.
