New season, new shoes, right? Hey, we’ll take any excuse to step into the most stylish silhouettes. But, how’s one to know which shoe styles are actually the most coveted for the season? By asking an expert, of course!

To help you flesh out your warm-weather wardrobe with all the best shoe styles, we chatted with stylist, bestselling author, and TV personality Jené Luciani Sena for the top five shoe trends for spring. Check them out, below!

Sandals and Socks

“Like Anna Sui showed us, keeping feet covered is still chic by pairing sandals with socks,” Sena says. “Be it Birks, sporty Tevas, or something less simple and more bejeweled, you’ll look totally on-trend when you cover up those tootsies.”

Anna Sui Teva

Teva x Anna Sui Women’s Flatform Universal Anna Sandals $150

What better way to copy the stunning styles at Anna Sui than by recreating it with a special-edition Anna Sui Teva collab? Exactly. Pair them over sheer socks or socks with frilly lace edges to complete the look.

Birkenstock Arizona

Birkenstock Arizona Slide Sandal $99.99

You can never go wrong with Birks. Spring, summer, fall, winter — with the right socks (or no socks at all), you’ll always be glad to have a pair in your closet.

Platforms

The higher the platform, the closer to heaven (our fun take on Dolly Parton’s famous hair saying). But seriously, Sena says platforms are a must for spring/summer 2021. “Altuzarra and Versace took shoes to new heights with bold platforms meant to elevate your spring and summer style game,” she shares. “Platforms keep coming back because women want the height but with more stability than a high heel.”

Clarks Platform Sandals

Clarks Lana Shore Platform Sandal $69.99

We love the neutral tones and espadrille mid-sole of these 1-3/4″ platform sandals. And, coming from a brand like Clarks, you know they’re incredibly comfortable.

Harbor Flatform Sandals

Harbor Flatform Sandals $98

The ’90s are alive and well in 2021. These slip-on platforms prove it.

Embellished Flip-Flops

Sena says to toss your boring flimsy flip flops and elevate the look with jewels and fun textiles. “Comfort still rules in the midst of the pandemic so designers took note and offered that but with a twist,” she shares. “Stella McCartney and Roger Vivier both showed flip-flops but with ornate and bejeweled details. Who said these comfy staples have to be boring?”

Yellow Box Flip Flop

Yellow Box Custard Wedge Flip-Flops $49

Looking to add a little extra height even on the most comfortable days? These bedazzled wedge flip-flops will do the trick.

Guess Flip-Flops

Guess Tutu 9 Flip-Flops $34.99

How fun are these metallic rose gold flip-flops? They’ll surely elevate any outfit you pair them with.

Block Heels

Keeping with the comfortable theme, Sena says that you can’t go wrong with block heels in 2021. “Chanel and Prada took the low road with baby, kitten, and block heels,” she says of the spring/summer 2021 runways. “Look for these stabilizing shoes in sandals, slingbacks, mules, and more.”

Sarto Olympia Block Heel Sandal $130

These woven, block-heeled sandals remind us of the famous Bottega Veneta shoes and bags that are also trending right now —only, these are a lot more affordable.

YIPPY SLIDE SANDAL

Yippy Slide Sandal $59.95

Block heels? Check. Clear accents? Check. Large buckles? Check. These gorgeous slip-ons are nothing short of the ’90s dream.

Slippers and Fuzzy Slides

As you can tell, comfort is everything here in 2021.“We spent a year in the house so it’s no surprise designers are making us feel ‘at home,’” Sena says. “Balenciaga and Gabriela Hearst showed ‘house slipper’ style slides meant to be worn anywhere and everywhere. The best part about this trend is that it doesn’t have to cost a lot of money so just have fun with it.”

UGG Sandals

UGG Disco Slides $100

Equipped with a 1.75” sole, these platform sandals take fuzzy slides to a whole new level.

Hunter Terry Cloth

Hunter Terry Beach Slide Sandals $65

If you prefer a bit less fuzz, you can always opt for terrycloth. Plus, unlike traditional fur, terrycloth is already a staple of the season.
