The 44th annual People’s Choice Awards aired Sunday night on E! to honor the most popular films, TV shows, and music. From rockstar performances to moving tributes and even a few awkward acceptance speeches, the viewer-voted ceremony made for an entertaining few hours, to say the least.

If you didn’t get a chance to tune in, check out the top five moments from the ceremony below.

Danai Gurira wins action star of the year
The Black Panther actress taking home the People’s Choice Award for Action Movie Star of 2018 was a major girl power moment. The category’s nomineees included some of the most famous male movie stars today including Chris Pratt, Ryan Reynolds, Chris Hemsworth, and Chadwick Boseman.

Nicki Minaj hits on Michael B. Jordan
Minaj is never afraid to speak her mind, and last night was no exception. The star very publicly and unapologetically hit on the oh-so-dreamy Black Panther star during her acceptance speech for Female Music Artist of 2018 when she said, “shout out to Donatella Versace for custom making this outfit for me, and shout out to Michael B. Jordan because he’s going to be taking it off of me tonight.” Well, that made for a somewhat awkward yet hilarious moment, but, honestly, can you blame her?

Victoria Beckham went Posh Spice
In light of the recent announcement of the Spice Girls’ reunion tour (although Beckham won’t be attending), she referenced a legendary Spice Girls lyric in her acceptance speech for the Fashion Icon Award. “I wanted to show that if I can do it, then really, anyone can do it – and what you achieve can be limitless if you really, really — I can’t help it — if you really, really want it,” said Beckham.

Stars pay tribute to veterans and first responders
Attendees of the PCAs, which took place on Veteran’s Day, shed light on the fact that there were much bigger and more important issues happening during the awards show including the tragic wildfires spreading through California. Stars like Scarlett Johansson, Kim Kardashian, Mila Kunis, and more honored the hard work of veterans, first responders, and firefighters during their acceptance speeches and on the red carpet.

Bryan Stevenson takes home the People’s Champion Award
Stevenson, a lawyer, professor, author, activist, and the founder of the Equal Justice Initiative, accepted the People’s Champion Award. Stevenson currently fights against racial discrimination in the criminal justice system and addressed these issues in his moving acceptance speech by urging people to end hate and embrace hope.
