Adjusting to a new workout plan is hard, let alone even getting yourself to try out a trendy fitness studio. That’s why we’re obsessed with yoga. Not only is it friendly to all ages and fitness levels, it’s the perfect way to get in a good workout while stretching out those muscles you’ve been neglecting (if you work a nine to five, you know what we’re talking about).
Guess what? Getting in a quick om sesh is a lot easier than you think because OmStars brings vinyasa flows straight to you.
OmStars is an online yoga channel for yogis by yogis and allows you to stream yoga classes wherever you are. The library is thoughtfully curated by co-founders Kino MacGregor and Kerri Verna, two of the world’s most qualified and sought after teachers — so you can trust that these videos are the best of the best. And whether you can hold a handstand like a pro or you’re just dipping your toes into the world of yoga, OmStars has something for every fitness level.
We chatted with the founders about some of their most memorable client success stories, motivational quotes they live by, and more.
How do you think workouts are changing in the digital realm and with the rise of fitness on social media?
KM: People have access to everything now! It’s so liberating and cool, but at the same time, it can be daunting to feel like you have to navigate the vast online world on your own. We created our online channel for OmStars to guide people through the yoga journey wherever they are.
KV: I believe that it’s a wonderful thing to have access to amazing teachers all over the world. I think workouts are the same, however, the way people are advertising their fitness programs is definitely changing. In the long run, the content will determine how many people come back for more.
How do you hope your clients feel after taking one of your workouts/classes?
KM: I hope a student leaves feeling more peaceful, filled with love, and ready to carry light into the world.
KV: I hope they feel like coming back and learning more about achieving all they hope for in life.
Is there one particular client success story that makes you smile?
KM: Every student who makes their health and fitness a daily ritual makes me smile.
KV: I have so many stories of students who felt like they weren’t good enough or thought they were too old to start yoga. That’s why I always think about the older students because I know it gets harder to start something new the older you get. I had a 68-year-old man come to me a few years ago asking me if he was too old to start yoga. I encouraged him that he could do it and now he has been practicing for over a year!
Do you have any advice for women who are looking to start their own business?
KM: Pour your heart and soul into everything. Don’t sweat the cash flow, if you do what you love with your full life force abundance will be yours.
KV: Follow your heart and know that you were placed on this earth for a divine purpose that only you can fulfill.
What’s your favorite part about helping people get in shape?
KM: I like the moment when people wake up to a limitless view of their own potential and get that spark to expand their mind and reveal who they truly are.
KV: I love to inspire that person on the couch who thinks “I’m too old” or I’m too out of shape.” I felt that way once and now I know that anything is possible at any point in your life. Just remember, there’s always hope!
