We had the chance to chat with Suze Yalof Schwartz, CEO and founder of Unplug Meditation, about her favorite success story, advice for starting your own business, and what motivates her.

What’s your favorite workout to do when you’re on-the-go?
Hiking!

Do you have any motivational quote(s) you like to live by?

“Never confuse who you are with what you do.” – Herb Yalof

How do you encourage yourself to workout when you just don’t feel like it?
I take a look at myself in the rearview mirror (lol) and then hop on my Total Gym machine.

Any favorite/go-to workouts?
My Total Gym machine and Peloton bike.

What’s your favorite part about helping people learn how to meditate?
My favorite part about helping people learn how to meditate is the hugs and tears I get from people whose lives have forever changed from meditation.

Is there one particular client success story that makes you smile?
One client and close friend named Mark had a brain tumor and he felt like he was losing his memory. Once he started meditating, he said his memory came back!

Do you have any advice for women who are looking to start their own business?
If you believe in it, do it, and don’t worry about not knowing how, because you will learn everything along the way.

How do you hope your clients feel after taking one of your classes?
Better than they did going in. I hope they feel calm, centered, happy, focused, and in touch with their core.

How do you think mental health and wellness is changing in the digital realm and with the rise of fitness and health on social media?
The digital realm has really made the best instructors accessible to the masses. For example, with the Unplug Meditation app, you can meditate anywhere (in your car, in bed with Apple TV, etc.) with the best meditation teachers for a fraction of the cost.
