Let’s be honest, who doesn’t have relationship issues? From your best friend to your S.O., tension can arise from what might seem like the smallest thing.
So what helps? Sometimes, just hearing someone talk about a similar situation to yours can help you decide how to go about it, which is why we’ve collected some of our favorite relationship podcasts.
Dear Sugars
Cheryl Strayed, known for the memoir Wild, and Steve Almond, author of My Life in Heavy Metal, have come together to answer your relationship questions — no matter how deep or how dark. Send in your questions to dearsugars@nytimes.com for a chance to be featured!
Modern Love
This one isn’t quite an advice podcast, but it does provide a lot of perspectives when it comes to different kinds of love. It explores different essays from a popular New York Times column, covering all sorts of relationships from platonic to romantic to familial. The essays are beautifully written and narrated, so it’s just as entertaining as it is insightful.
Anna Faris Is Unqualified
Anna Faris (um, love her!) gives her “not so great” relationship advice. Leave a message describing your situation, and you just may receive a call back from Anna and her co-host Sim Sarna. If anything, it’s nice to hear some genuine advice from a couple of people that are removed from the situation.
Where Should We Begin?
Host Esther Perel is a psychotherapist who specializes in sex and relationships. There are currently two seasons, which means you can get plenty of expert advice on various topics. If the topic you’re looking for hasn’t been featured, don’t fret because they’re currently taking submissions for season three!
Ladies Who Lunch
Hosts Ingrid Nilsen and Cat Valdes explore various topics from relationships to how to discuss politics with your family. They cover a new topic every week as they read submissions and speak on their own opinions. Plus, they have delicious lunch goodies at the beginning of every episode (hence, the name of the podcast).
