We couldn’t be more proud of this talented writer, actor, and comedian.

Forbes recently reported that Amy Schumer is the first woman to be on the highest-paid comedian list — coming in at number four, overall.

Undoubtedly, her success was helped by numerous projects like her recent movie Trainwreck and the release of her autobiography, The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo. Regardless, her talent is undeniable…she took home $17 million last year!

It’s in Denmark!!!!

Schumer’s status on the list is a massive feat and perhaps one step closer to closing the gender wage gap. However, Schumer told NPR last month that comedy still has a long way to go. Forbes reported that women only make up only 28.9% of all writers across broadcast, cable, and streaming services.

I feel like there won’t be enough change…until there’s no wage gap, and until someone says ‘You’re my favorite comic,’ not ‘You’re my favorite female comic.’

Even though there is obviously a need for further change in the entertainment industry, we’re glad that Schumer is making strides of her own.
