It’s not easy being a great fitness trainer. You have to be amazingly fit, super motivational and a tiny bit scary to whip your client’s flabby butts into eye-turning tushes.

Clearly, the dynamite celebrity trainer and TV star Jackie Warner is on top of her game. Her 20-pack abs inspire awe, beauty, admiration and fright (is she a…machine??)!

The Thintervention phenom and bestselling author of This is Why You’re Fat (and How to Get Thin Forever) loves sharing her no-nonsense guidelines to getting fit and fab (for instance: “Sugar is the devil”). The best news is you can incorporate her tips right away — check ’em out!

1. Drink Water. Three liters of H2O per day can burn 50-75 calories and double your energy! An added perk? It clears up your skin!

2. Lift Weights. Don’t let cardio fool you. According to Warner, cardio is the slowest way to lose weight. To burn more calories faster and add muscle to speed up your metabolism, try resistance training. Concentrate on bigger muscle groups like the chest, back, glutes, hamstrings, and quadriceps. If you are able to do more than 20 reps in a set, you’re being too easy on yourself. Add more weight.

3. Eat Fat-Burning Foods. Munch on eggs, oatmeal and avocado daily, but limit to one serving. For instance, 2 eggs with the yolk, 1 cup of oatmeal, and 1/4 an avocado. “It’s a one-serving equivalent of a good fat that the body needs for production of testosterone that helps speed up metabolism.”
