To get a long-lasting, chip-free manicure with the Gel Manicure Kit, getting the nail prep and gel polish application right is essential! Follow the next steps for impeccable results: Application File the edge and surface of your nail. Filing the surface allows the gel to adhere better and filing the edges helps keep the gel from chipping. File in one direction using light strokes. Use a non-acetone nail polish remover and wipe away the dust and oils. Apply a VERY thin (barely-there) layer of gel polish. You can remove excess gel polish from the brush (before applying) by wiping it along the opening of the bottle. It's important to ensure that the base layer is not too thick as this affects how long it lasts. Cure in the LED lamp for 30 seconds. Make sure each nail is cured as soon as the gel is applied (instead of applying gel on all five fingers and then curing one by one). This step is important to minimize the amount of time the gel is exposed to air, as this will negatively affect the result. Apply a second layer of gel polish and cure again. Make the second coat slightly thicker with even strokes of gel polish. This will create a nice, smooth top layer, which can last longer. And that's it - you're done! Removal File the surface of your gel manicure that you wish to remove. This step will eliminate the top layer of the gel polish (which is the hardest one) and will allow the remover pad to work even better. Tear open the remover pad and insert your finger, with the cotton pad over the nail. The acetone from the cotton pad will soak into the gel. Wrap the remover pad around your finger, removing the sticker on the packet to ensure that it's air tight. Wait 15 minutes. Remove the packet and the gel polish will have a shattered effect. Use the cuticle stick to scrape off the gel. Use the nail file to file away any remaining bits of gel. Wash your hands and use hand cream to moisturize.
