Flip out the handle until it clicks into place. Make sure the cutter is in the start position by turning the handle counter-clockwise (1-2 rotations). Place the can opener on the can with its rim positioned in the groove between the cutter and the wheel at the bottom of the can opener. Rotate the handle clockwise until the can is open. When the can is opened, the lid will be held by the can opener. To release the lid from the opener, rotate the handle counter-clockwise. After use, flip the handle back into the resting position, inserting the knob back into the hole.

Wipe the unit with a damp cloth or a sponge, using a mild non-abrasive cleaner, followed with a clean and dry cloth to dry it completely. Always use caution when cleaning the cutter. Keep fingers away from the cutter at all times.
