Remove all packaging materials, labels, protective film, etc. Wash all removable accessories (racks, trays) with warm soapy water. Dry thoroughly. Place the unit on a flat, heat-resistant countertop. Leave space on all sides (top, back, sides) for ventilation. Plug into a dedicated 120V outlet (for US models) — do not use a shared extension cord if avoidable. Optional but recommended: Preheat the unit a few minutes on a moderate setting (just to burn off any manufacturing residues) then wipe the interior.
