Plug the appliance into a suitable mains socket and switch it to the ON position. The red power indicator light will illuminate to show that the flat iron is heating. Set the temperature to the desired heat for your hair type, up to 400°F (210°C). Always use the minimum recommended heat setting to achieve the desired results and avoid hair damage. Most normal hair types require only 320°F–380°F (160°C–190°C). Allow the iron approximately 30–60 seconds to reach the desired temperature. Brush your hair and separate it into sections about 2 inches wide. Place one section between the plates (or wrap it around the wand) as close to the scalp as possible without touching it. Do not touch the scalp. Hold the plates firmly closed with the hair section in between, sliding the iron or curler down or flipping it to achieve the desired style. Do not hold the hair between the clamping plates or wand for more than 2–5 seconds, depending on hair thickness. After one section is straightened or curled, move to the next section and repeat the process until all hair is styled as desired. Upon completion, turn the appliance switch to the OFF position, unplug the cord, and allow the unit to cool down completely before storing.

Cleaning Before cleaning your styling iron, always unplug the appliances from the power source and allow them to completely cool down.
