Another day, another controversial Snapchat filter.

The social media platform released a filter on Tuesday channeling digital yellowface that gave users slit eyes and misshapen facial features. It’s just one of many filters that has come under fire (Snapchat featured a Bob Marley filter which users accused of digital blackface).
When asked to comment, Snapchat told Mashable, “This anime-inspired lens has already expired, and won’t be put back into circulation. Lenses are meant to be playful and never to offend.”
Snapchat has since taken down the filter after users posted complaints.
