We’re so excited to fire up the BBQ this summer and show off some grilling skills, with a little help from the Grill Girl Digital Thermometer. When it comes to cooking the perfect steak, or making sure no “rubbery chicken” hits the plate, temperature is more important than cook time, making a meat thermometer an absolute must!

Here’s a few more tips and tricks from the Grill Girl herself, Robyn Lindars, who is helping us all become queens of the grill!

  1. Research the proper minimal internal temp for the type of meat you’re cooking up – we listed some below for you to refer to when using your Grill Girl Meat Thermometer!
  2. When using the thermometer, make sure you don’t hit bone or fat when inserting into the meat (this would prevent an accurate read!)
  3. Don’t forget about “carry over cooking” – when the meat continues to cook after being taken off the grill. You can take the meat off a few degrees under the target temperature, as it will reach that temp while resting.Minimal Temps for Grilling
    •  Chicken/Poultry: 165
    • Pork: 145
    • Seafood: 145
    • Steak: (see infographic) 125*F: Rare; 135*F: Medium Rare; 145*F: Medium; 150*F: Medium Well, 160*F: Well Done.
    • Ground Meats: 160
