You aren’t a true Angeleno if you haven’t gone over to the other side of Hollywood hills.
Often overshadowed by Hollywood, North Hollywood (or NoHo) is a city with rich history nestled amongst its charming neighborhoods and boutique shops. You’re going to love what we discovered.
Take a weekend to explore this hidden gem of SoCal and plan a staycation with our list of must-dos in NoHo.
Stay at the chic upscale hotel The Garland
The hotel has so much history in itself as it’s family-owned and was originally built and named after the actress Beverly Garland by husband Fillmore Crank — it’s now overseen by their youngest son, James Crank. The hotel has a warm, retro ’70s vibe that makes it feel like your home away from home.
Walk around the neighborhood
Take a stroll through some neighborhoods and educate yourself on the history of NoHo. Many famous film directors and actors currently reside in the area, as well. You can even take a peek at the original Brady Brunch house.
Take a day to head to Universal Studios
Entertain your childhood self at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Let your wand choose you at Ollivanders Shop and sip on some Butter Beer. Bonus? The Garland offers a free shuttle service to and from the amusement park so you can travel comfortably.
Get brunch or dinner at The Front Yard
The Front Yard is actually a part of The Garland but anybody can dine at this uh-mazing restaurant. The food is phenomenal and the decor is on point, making you feel right at home. You def have to try the Huevos Rancheros or Grilled Octopus — promise you won’t be disappointed.
Stroll through Tujunga Village
Many movies were filmed on this iconic street because of its small town feel and it’s ability to look like “Any Town”, USA. Explore the cafes throughout and pamper yourself at the day spa! Who knows? You might even spot a celeb.
