If you’re not buying the new iPhone 7 today, no worries. You can still download Apple’s newest software update, iOS10, which features a lot of new and exciting changes!
Here’s what you need to know about the update:
–Apple Music got a makeover. It’s much brighter and the font is bigger, too! Lyrics are now available at the bottom of the screen so you can sing along to your favorites. Apple Music also offers a selection of curated playlists (sounds a lot like Spotify!).
–Emoji Suggestions. If the predictive feature is turned on in your iMessage, it will suggest emojis as you type out your text. Type “taco” and the taco emoji will appear. Plus, emojis are now three times bigger.
–Control Center (the menu that appears when you swipe up from the bottom of the screen) got a mini revamp. Music controls are now on a separated page and you can access it by swiping right. Fonts are much easier to read as well.
–Photo Stream has been reorganized. The Camera Roll still exists but there are new additions: People, which categorizes photos of people that appear the most in your photos using facial recognition and Places, which categorizes all the locations you took your photos. Also, Memories collects photos from people and locations to generate photo and video collages.
–Maps also looks a bit different. It still predicts your usual activities and makes suggestions. It can also automatically detect calendar events and pull up the location of these events. And as a cherry on top, you can book an Uber, pay for it with Apple Pay, and monitor it through Maps without leaving the app.
–iMessage has also changed and it’s even more fun to use! You can add bubble effects to iMessage texts and respond to other messages with icons like heart, thumbs up, and thumbs down. You can even add GIFs according to your mood. Rotate your phone to landscape mode and you can send handwritten messages. You can also download stickers in the iMessage App store including Mario stickers, Ellen DeGeneres stickers, and Kimojis!
