FALL 2018 BOX PARTNER

Pots, pans, and utensils might be a few things that come to mind when you think of kitchen essentials, but there’s one item in your kitchen that’s not getting the credit it deserves — tea towels. Yep, more than just for drying dishes, tea towels can be used for so much more.

Check out all the ways you can use it below.

Keep food warm
Whether you’re baking a breakfast casserole or need to keep your bread rolls warm before guests come over, keep your baked goods warm by simply placing a tea towel on top of the dish to keep the heat trapped.

Decorate your home
Tea towels can add a decorative touch to your home as a placement, napkins, or even hung over your sink. We love the Simply Whimsical Tea Towels, which feature a playful gray chevron print that’s sure to inspire you and your guests every time you step into your home.

Dry your greens
Yes, we’re talking about your leafy veggies! After rinsing your lettuce, bell peppers, or any other greens, lay it out flat and roll it up in a tea towel. Then gently pat it dry and unroll the towel. By doing so, your greens will remain crispy and unbroken before you make your salad.

Makeshift oven mitt
Sometimes clunky or oversized oven mitts make it difficult to grip a baking pan safely. Use a tea towel instead to help you grab onto the pan tightly while protecting yourself from a burn. Fold the towel in half to create an extra protective layer.

Keep a cutting board in place
We’ve all been centimeters away from slicing our fingers open while cutting veggies or meat. Well, you can use a tea towel to keep the cutting board in place. Simply place a damp tea towel underneath your cutting board to prevent it from sliding all over your kitchen counter.
