What inspired you to get Glow Recipe in the Summer 2025 Box?
Glow Recipe’s fruit-forward skincare is what inspired me to bring these 3 products in for Summer. Not only are they thematic with the juicy fruits of the season, but all three products complement each other and tell a fun skincare story for Summer.
What makes Korean skincare different?
Korean skincare prioritizes the skin barrier and hydration, which gives us that signature glass skin look K Beauty became best known for. Going into Glow Recipe, all of their products are designed to really make the skin glow!
Tell us what you love about the 3 incredible Glow Recipe items in the Summer Box.
I regularly use all 3 products as they serve such specific purposes in my skincare routine! I absolutely love cleansing balms and I think the Papaya Sorbet Enzyme Cleansing Balm is an excellent one as it takes off all makeup while using papaya enzymes to renew the skin. The Blackberry Retinol is a triple retinoid serum, but is so gentle and helps combat breakouts. Not all retinols are made the same, and I think this one is really effective. The Strawberry Blur BHA Drops are so underrated and really combines both skincare and makeup into one. The product not only helps minimize pores, but it is the best skin prep – making my skincare last all day and decreasing any excess oil.
Can you explain the hype around Retinol?
Retinol is incredible because it treats breakouts, fine lines, wrinkles, and texture. Think of retinol as a major catalyst in skin turnover, that’s why it gets such a reputation of being harsh on the skin. Glow Recipe carefully formulated their retinol to provide visible skin improvement without irritation.
Share your thoughts on double cleansing.
I am a huge fan of double cleansing! To me, it is how we’ve evolved fron makeup wipes and makeup removers. Double cleansing uses an oil based cleanser to melt stubborn makeup (even waterproof) followed by a standard cleanser.
What is BHA and why should we be using it?
BHA is a type of acid and chemical exfoliant that you find in skincare products. In our Glow Recipe Strawberry PHA product, the BHA helps penetrate pores and is a key product in reducing oil from the skin.
What is a hack for using Retinol when you have sensitive skin?
Luckily, the Glow Recipe Blackberry retinol is designed for sensitive skin and the retinoids activate gently. If you are brand new to retinol and want to ease in, I’d start by using every other night or mixing the serum in with your moisturizer.
