As the saying goes, mother knows best — especially TV moms. We grew up watching TV moms and love their cute jokes and helpful advice almost as much as the women who gave birth to us. TV moms help us appreciate our real moms that much more, too.
So in honor of Mother’s Day, here’s a list of some of the coolest TV moms.
Gloria Pritchett of Modern Family
Gloria Pritchett is the spicy, doting Colombian wife of Jay. She is fiercely supportive and protective of her family, too.
Tami Taylor of Friday Night Lights
She’s got it all y’all including her brains, compassion, and fab hair! Tami is everyone’s rock as she balances her roles as a wife, mother, and high school guidance counselor.
Lorelai Gilmore of Gilmore Girls
Lorelai handles every scenario with such grace and amazing sass-a-frass — even as a single mama. We can’t get enough of her amazing pop culture references, too!
Claire Huxtable from The Cosby Show
Claire is incredibly classy and knows how to be tough when she needs to be. She kills it as a lawyer and loving mother and wife, too!
Kirsten Cohen from The OC
In a sea of Newport Beach Newpsies, Kirsten Cohen manages to get her sh*t together even though she’s a little addicted to her chardonnay. But there’s nothing she loves more than her family.
Jessica Huang of Fresh off the Boat
She is the fiercest and sassiest mom we know. We love how practical she is and how she always aims to keep her children grounded in their Chinese heritage.
Becky Katsopolis of Full House
As Danny Fuller’s morning show co-host and Jesse’s beloved wife, Becky mothers his girls and eventually her own twins with compassion and understanding. Not to mention, she’s a brilliant role model for the motherless Tanner girls.
Carol Brady of The Brady Bunch
Who can forget Carol’s trademark hair and famous smile. She makes raising six kids look insanely simple, especially with Alice in the picture!
Bonnie Plunkett of Mom
Yes, she may be a recovering alcoholic who’s been known to steal a few things but she’s so authentic. Incredibly quick-witted, smart, vulnerable, funny — she’s a real woman!
