With all the talk surrounding breastfeeding, new mothers often find it difficult to decide how to feed their baby. While public breastfeeding is deemed as “inappropriate” by many, formula feeding is also frowned upon because of its unnatural content (even if a mom can’t produce enough breastmilk).
That’s why Amanda Seyfried jumped on Twitter to give her two cents on the stigma surrounding feeding. The actress gave birth to her first child earlier this year and was pretty fed up with what people had to say about a mother’s choices of feeding her baby.

“…remain so stigmatized? In a word: sex. We live in a culture comfortable with exploiting breasts to sell burgers, for goodness sake.”

In a string of tweets, she laid it all out and said, “Breastfeeding is awesome. Formula is awesome. Feeding your baby is awesome. Not awesome? Judgment.” She followed with a quote from Maureen Shaw, criticizing the shame surrounding breastfeeding as it stems from breasts being portrayed as a sex object.
Other moms chimed in to give praise to the actress and share their thoughts on the issue.
