We sat down with Garza to chat all things beauty, her best tips and tricks for the palette, and how her beauty routine has changed as an expecting mom.
Why did you partner with FabFitFun and ISH?
I love trying new brands and products. Collaborating with them was always a natural fit on my channel. ISH combines my love for FFF and beauty!
What are some tips you would share with beginners using the lip palette?
It’s a glossy formula so it will make your lips look really hydrated and amazing! I like to line first so that the look can be really sharp.
What’s your favorite part about the lip palette?
SO many great neutrals, my fave!
Any hacks on how to make your lipstick last all day and how to apply it flawlessly?
I always start with clean lips- — make sure there isn’t any foundation/powder on them. Next, I line with a shade 11 darker than the lip color. Next, I apply the product with a brush so I can blend it with the liner!
Can you share tips on when to use the brush vs. a finger when applying the lip colors?
I use a brush every day because it makes the color so even and smooth. If I was going for a quick “no makeup” makeup look I would use my finger and tap a lighter shade onto my lips and mix with balm to make a stain!
What are some beauty trends you foresee in the spring?
Glowing bronze skin with light foundation mixed with liquid highlighters!
What inspired your love for makeup?
My mom — she’s so glam and is so good at makeup!
You used to work at Ulta! Any makeup tips & tricks you learned from working there?
Don’t always follow trends. If you love something and it makes you feel good stick with that! As a makeup artist, I always felt like I needed to try new things every day and new techniques and colors, etc. However, throughout the years I’ve really found my signature look and I love it because it suits me! Bronze skin, big lashes, and lips — it’s my go-to look!
Can you provide a step-by-step on how to create a light ombre lip using the ISH palette?
1. Line with a neutral brown to get your perfect shade.
2. Use a darker shade and go over where you put the liner using a brush.
3. Wipe off the brush and take the lightest shade and apply that to the center of the lips top and bottom.
4. Finally, use the brush to blend the 2 shades together. It’ll create the perfect ombre!
As an expecting mom, has your beauty routine changed/do you expect it to change?
I still do my favorite look but I’ve gotten it done to a science and can do it in 5 minutes! Foundation, bronzer, brows, and lips. I have lash extensions so that knocks off a few minutes getting ready!
How do you keep the creativity flowing when producing beauty content?
I always try to put out content that I am interested in. If I would want to learn about/watch something on a certain topic or product then I know other women probably do too!
Any tips for cleaning up lipstick mistakes?
Use a flat eyeliner or eyebrow brush and a tiny bit of foundation to clean up edges. You’ll get a much sharper line than using a traditional lip brush. Also if you use foundation it’ll blend perfectly into the rest of your face if you use concealer it can tend to look like a white/light ring around your mouth.
Where do you get inspiration for your makeup looks (i.e. influencers, brands, fashion shows, magazines)?
Yes, everywhere! Fashion shows always give me a good idea [of] what is going to be on trend for the season. Mostly other women on the street or friends will inspire me every day! Real women that have great style or a really pretty makeup look — it’s so relatable and I find myself more inspired by them than anything else!
