Considering the number of women that work in Hollywood, this isn&#8217;t exactly a booming percentage.<\/p>\n<p>Regardless, the women who were nominated in non-acting categories are definitely names you should know&#8230;because without these women, <a href=\"https:\/\/fabfitfun.com\/magazine\/everything-need-know-oscar-nominated-films\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">our favorite Oscar-nominated films<\/a> would&#8217;ve been left without amazing sets, beautiful makeup, or even a script.<\/p>\n<p>Ahead, we rounded up five Oscar-nominated women you should know about before the ceremony airs on February 26.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/oCh4iiAXuAc\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n<strong>Eva von Bahr<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>A Man Called Ove<\/em> &#8211; Makeup and Hairstyling<br \/>\nKnown for her work in 2011&#8217;s\u00a0<em>The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo<\/em>, Bahr is nominated with her husband, Love Larson, for their work on the Swedish film. She&#8217;s worked on several other notable foreign films like\u00a0<em>A\u00a0Man Called Ove<\/em> and\u00a0<em>The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window<\/em>, but the fact that she was nominated with her partner is pretty cool.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/g9pW3B8Ycc4\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n<strong>Mica Levi<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Jackie<\/em> &#8211; Music (Original Score)<br \/>\nMusic in a film can be just as impactful as the film&#8217;s storyline. Levi (also known as &#8220;Micachu&#8221;) is a\u00a0classically trained, professional musician from London. Levi&#8217;s beautiful score for <em>Jackie<\/em> accompanies the film&#8217;s haunting tones following the death of Jackie&#8217;s husband&#8217;s assassination.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RK8xHq6dfAo\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n<strong>Allison Schroeder and Theodore Melfi<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Hidden Figures<\/em> &#8211; Writing (Adapted Screenplay)<br \/>\nSchroeder is a phenomenal writer who loves NASA, so her nomination for\u00a0<em>Hidden Figures<\/em>\u00a0makes perfect sense. She&#8217;s nominated alongside Theodore Melfi with whom she adapted the screenplay. Melfi is a producer and writer, known for his work on <em>St. Vincent<\/em>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0pdqf4P9MB8\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n<strong>Ai-Ling Lee and Mildred Iatrou Morgan<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>La La Land<\/em> &#8211; Sound Editing<br \/>\nSound editing is an essential part of filmmaking as it seamlessly blends the words, music, and background noises. Lee and Morgan are the first women ever to be nominated for Best Sound Editing &#8212; that&#8217;s pretty impressive. Lee has worked on films like\u00a0<em>Deadpool<\/em>, <em>Snow <\/em>White<em> and the Huntsman<\/em>, and <em>Wild<\/em> to name a few.
