{"id":92756,"date":"2016-11-02T12:44:04","date_gmt":"2016-11-02T19:44:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fabfitfun.com\/magazine\/?p=92756"},"modified":"2016-11-02T12:43:59","modified_gmt":"2016-11-02T19:43:59","slug":"green-starbucks-cups","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fabfitfun.com\/magazine\/green-starbucks-cups\/","title":{"rendered":"People Are Really Pissed Over Starbucks&#8217; New Cup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The annual release of red\u00a0holiday cups is\u00a0a time-honored tradition many Starbucks\u00a0customers\u00a0look forward to, so when people received green cups on November 1 instead,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/entry\/starbucks-green-cup-holiday-design-unity-twitter-politics_us_5819f0c1e4b01f610e3934d2\" target=\"_blank\">it caused some problems<\/a>\u00a0to say the least.<\/p>\n<p>Artist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tiremanstudio.com\/starbucks\" target=\"_blank\">Shogo Ota<\/a>\u00a0designed the cup, which\u00a0features a drawing of over one hundred people completed in a single stroke. The cup is meant to celebrate unity.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The green cup and the design represent the connections Starbucks has as a community with its partners (employees) and customers.\u00a0During a divisive time in our country, Starbucks wanted to create a symbol of unity as a reminder of our shared <a href=\"https:\/\/news.starbucks.com\/views\/starbucks-mission-and-values\">values<\/a>, and the need to be good to each other,&#8221;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.starbucks.com\/news\/starbucks-green-cup\" target=\"_blank\">said Howard Schultz<\/a>, Starbucks Chairman and CEO.<\/p>\n<p>Some are mad because the cup is green, not red:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Starbucks\">@Starbucks<\/a> This is ugly.
