If you&#8217;re looking for a new birth control, you may not have to look any further.<\/p>\n<p>Kyleena is a new Food and Drug Associate (FDA) approved birth control\u00a0due to hit the market in October.<\/p>\n<p>Kyleena is\u00a0an intrauterine device (IUD) that&#8217;s just a little different from Bayer&#8217;s other two popular versions, Mirena and Skyla.\u00a0IUDs release synthetic\u00a0hormones\u00a0like levonorgestrel to prevent pregnancy, while implants like ParaGuard\u00a0create an environment unsafe for sperm. Both, however, are forms of\u00a0long-acting reversible contraception (LARCs).<\/p>\n<p>Kyleena boasts a lower dose of hormones than Mirena,\u00a0but it lasts just as long (five years!).
