Katie Ledecky <\/strong>set a new\u00a0world record<\/a> in the Women’s 400m Freestyle Final at 3:56:46. She beat her old world record by 2 seconds.<\/p>\n Adam Peaty\u00a0<\/strong>of Great Britain set a new world record<\/a> and brought home GB’s first medal of Rio in the 100m breaststroke.<\/p>\n Sadly, Gabby Douglas<\/strong> will not be advancing<\/a>\u00a0to defend her title into the all-around gymnastics finals on Thursday. She lost by half a point to teammate Aly Raisman. Despite the fact that Douglas finished in the top three, each country is only allowed to send two members to the all-around finals.<\/p>\n Aly Raisman<\/strong>\u00a0officially has the cutest parents<\/a> ever. Ever.<\/p>\n Serena and Venus Williams\u00a0<\/strong>had their first loss ever<\/a> at the Olympics in a doubles match against Czech Republic’s Lucie Safarova and Barbora Strycova.<\/p>\n Samir Ait Said<\/strong> of France broke his lower left leg<\/a>\u00a0in a freak accident\u00a0when he landed badly on the vault.<\/p>\n The US Men’s Team\u00a0<\/strong>took home the gold<\/a> in the 4×100 freestyle relay, led by Michael Phelps. He swam his best ever 100m and helped the US edge out the French.<\/p>\n Wu Minxia\u00a0<\/strong>of China set a world record<\/a> by being the first\u00a0person to win five gold medals in diving. She scored her fifth gold medal in synchronized 3m springboard with partner Shi Tingmao.<\/p>\n
