You probably recognize\u00a0JoJo as the singer who released her debut album, including hit song Leave (Get Out)<\/a><\/i>, at the young age of 13. She was killin’ it back then and she’s still killin’ it now!\u00a0However, the\u00a0singer struggled with some\u00a0internal issues before becoming\u00a0confident in her own skin.<\/p>\n

JoJo previously took\u00a0supplements<\/a> to lose weight — and it wasn’t for good reason.<\/p>\n

The singer\u00a0shared in an interview with PopSugar<\/a> that she\u00a0was\u00a0pressured by a company she was previously with\u00a0to lose weight in a short amount of time. It lead to her injecting herself\u00a0with supplements so she could restrict her diet to only 500 calories per day. It affected her psychologically and JoJo noted,\u00a0“It was the most unhealthy thing I’ve ever done.”<\/p>\n

Once JoJo was off supplements, she gained all the weight back\u00a0and immediately felt terrible about giving in to those pressures. However, the singer revealed she has since been doing her own thing and learned to listen to herself.\u00a0She believes “what you think about yourself and the decisions you make is what’s most important.” You tell ’em girl!<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old is coming out with a new album Mad Love<\/em>\u00a0(released on October 14)\u00a0and is currently\u00a0on tour with girl group Fifth Harmony.<\/p>\n
